An organization called the Global Network Shibori has been trained practitioners from over 21 countries. The 2nd International Symposium Shibori took place at the end of 1997, in Ahmedabad, India and the 3rd Symposium will be held in Santiago, Chile in 1999. North America and Europe is currently experiencing a boom shibori, with a growing number of artists are drawn to the expressive power of this great family of techniques.
